The ELA standard I chose is for fifth grade classes in which states "include multimedia components (e.g., graphics, sound) and visual displays in presentations when appropriate to enhance the development of main ideas or themes." This standard implements the need to emphasize the main ideas and themes in presentations by utilizing special effects such as music, animations, et cetera in order to help develop these important pieces of information for the students. I think this would be easy for me to implement since I am already using graphics and sounds in my presentations now. This standard was taught to me as early as middle school for PowerPoint presentations and there are now more creative and easier ways to implement this standard so, I will be able to utilize this standard with my current skill set.

The resource that I found in the CPALMS' toolkit was the video game store. It was located under grade level 5 and in the math subject area. This resource utilizes different video games to teach different areas of math. Students are able to pick what kind of game they'd like to play to teach them/help them with a specific math lesson. I would utilize this tool to help my students study for their lessons when a quiz or test is nearing. I would also inform parents and their students to utilize this tool for studying and help at home.

Internet searching is important for being a proficient teacher because things are constantly changing and to gain knowledge of most of the updates takes simple searching the internet. Internet searching helps teachers stay up to date and obtain new methods and ideas for their students. The most important part of internet searching is being specific. This is really the only tool you need as well as making sure you read everything before utilizing any information from internet searches.
